About Me

As a qualified Therapist with over 25 years of experience working with the emergency services, helping others deal with their own and others’ physical, emotional and psychological traumas’, I thought that I was physically, mentally and emotionally strong enough, that my learned coping mechanisms and my resilience would sustain me – indefinitely. Suddenly, my body shouted “STOP,” and I had no option but to comply.

On reflection, I hadn’t listened to my body’s warnings; I had been far too busy.

I had heard the phrase ‘self-care’ by numerous therapists, friends and family. Still, I didn’t really understand what it actually meant – yet I knew that as lovely as a visit to a spa would be, that alone really could not sustain my physical or mental health.

I began to investigate what self-care is, how I could implement it and what the actual benefits would be.

I began to understand the innumerable but significant small steps that I have to take daily to look after myself and the much larger strides that will have an immense impact on changing my quality of life for the better.

I began to move forward, achieve greater and, most importantly, be present.

I began to understand how self-awareness and self-worth were intrinsically linked and how the positive steps I was making had a significant impact, not only on me but that ricocheted into different parts of my life and on all of those around me.

Today, my self-care is immensely better than it has ever been; I am better equipped to help you listen to your body, mind and spirit and am able to help you take the necessary actions to not only sustain a busy life but to find more joy within it!

I am loving the joys and excitements that life brings me, from the simple things of drinking more water daily to the more challenging ways of understanding and implementing my personal and relationship boundaries, finding freedom and becoming more determined to succeed whilst finding new and exciting challenges to embrace to fully feed my soul and give me a new lease of life and I want that for you too.
